The Best Shooting Glasses: ESS, Rudy Project, Remington, UPDATED 2020

I have tried many shooting glasses with lenses of different colors and with different frames. Simple and expensive, all of them had similar problems – you would feel pain after just several hours of wearing shooting glasses together with earmuffs. Earmuffs create pressure on ears which then press on glasses’ temple arms which press on head. And after a long day on the range you would feel pain in ears and head for several hours. I was wondering why any of the manufacturers have not solved this problem and was looking for something that will be more comfortable for a long time.

Why you need to change the factory magazine follower ASAP
I receive many complaints about factory magazine follower from Remington 870 owners. It is cheap and easy to brake. This is number one cause for feeding problems. First Remington 870s had metal followers which were strong and reliable.

“I decided to get it back out after posting yesterday to give it another look. I measured it and 12.5″ LOP for the SGA is correct. The Hogue actually seem to be about 11.75″ LOP. LOP is kind of tough to measure because you really don’t know where they were measuring from. I measured from the trigger to the middle of the buttpad, which was not the longest point, but seemed the most accurate and comparable. The Magpul forend is also about .25″ shorter on the back end compared to the Hogue making the combination of the Magpul parts feel like they had about an inch longer LOP than the Hogue. The grip of the SGA also has a squared off front with slight palm swells on both sides, but something about these two features just didn’t feel right to my hand. I wish they would have just made this part round. The distinct contours really force you to grip it in the way that it’s shaped instead of having a more universal grip. I will say that the non-slip surface on both sides works well. It’s made up of hundreds of tiny Magpul symbols that are just slightly raised from the surface. I would have liked to see those go all the way around the grip. I’ll try to post some pics this weekend for you guys to compare the two.”

The Remington 870 is an adored pump-action shotgun that is used by hunters, police officers, target shooters, competitive shooters, and military officers. But like any good weapon, it needs to have a suitable safety button that someone can switch on and off in a moment’s notice. You don’t want to have the risk of not being able to push the button fast enough when you’re in a hurry or desperate situation. The factory safety button that comes with the Remington 870 is a perfect example of this. A lot of owners claim this factory safety button is too small for their fingers, which causes them to waste precious time by having to bring the button close to them and push down hard on it. If you’re in a combat situation or need to shoot something quickly, you must be able to keep your hand on the handle while disengaging the safety at the same time. This can be done with your thumb if the safety button on the weapon is big enough.
