I receive a lot of questions from shotgun owners which want to add a heat shield (barrel shroud) to a shotgun. So, this review will describe available options and how to choose the best heat shield for the Remington 870.
The ATI Top Folding Stock for pump-action shotguns looks like a copy of the old Remington law enforcement top folding stock. However, the big difference is that it’s made out of plastic. These plastic parts are a disadvantage to the stock while its compact size is an advantage.
Special thanks to Tactical887 for this review of the new ATI 7 Shot Fluted Magazine Extension.
The new ATI 7 shot fluted magazine extension, is not just all about aesthetics. It is constructed of military type 3 anodized, 6061 T6 aluminum. The standoff cap is designed for breaching doors, however the 7 shot extension runs fairly flush with the bore of an 18.5” barrel (see the first picture below).
I have announced review of the ATI Talon stock and ATI Talon Aluminum forend some time ago. Now, after tests, I can tell you that it is nice set with many interesting features. The only disadvantages are complicated installation and heavy weight of the stock.
Don’t trust many negative reviews of the ATI stock and forend. I think that most of the negative reviews were from people who installed upgrades incorrectly. I am not affiliated with ATI and this is honest review with advantages and disadvantages of this set.
ATI Talon aluminum forend will work with Mossberg, Remington, and Winchester shotguns. This forend looks extremely good on Remington 870. It is surprisingly lightweight and gives user lots of options and different accessories.
The only disadvantage is complicated installation with several adapters. But this needs to be done only once and then you can benefit from all the interesting features of the ATI Talon Forend.
