Sage International Shotgun Barrel/Magazine Clamp (Battleclamp) has a very nice smooth design with rounded edges. It stabilizes the magazine extension by clamping it to the barrel. That way, you will not damage the extension if you hit something with it. The Sage International clamp fits Remington 870, 1100, 11-87 and Benelli M1, M2, M4, M1014, 12 gauge shotguns.

Some people think that this accessory is not necessary for shotguns with magazine extensions but I recommend having it. As a competitive shooter, I visit a lot of practical shooting shotgun matches. There are a lot of stages with different walls, doors, tunnels and windows. It is very common when the shooter hits something with a barrel or magazine extension. And all of them have magazine clamps because they don’t want to damage the magazine extension tube. This example is from competitions where people are under competition stress. Imagine a home defense situation and the amount of adrenaline and stress you are going to feel. It is very likely that you will lose your fine motor skills and it will be very possible that you bump something with your shotgun. So, it is better to have a clamp that stabilizes the magazine extension and protects it from damage.

The Sage International tactical barrel clamp has a single point button sling cup. With a reversible design of this clamp, you can have a sling attachment on the left or on the right side of the barrel.

It comes with a 1.5″ MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail for mounting additional accessories like flashlights, lasers and sling attachments. However, the rail is located pretty high on the clamp which makes it not as convenient as the CDM Gear clamp. The flashlight may even block your peripheral view. Also, it doesn’t have any anti-scratch pads included.

The clamp utilizes black stainless steel Allen head screws. I couldn’t find any info on how threads are made in this clamp. So, I don’t know how durable they are. The clamp is CNC Machined from 6061 T6 aluminum like most of the other magazine/barrel clamps. It is Mil-spec Type 3 hardcoat anodized with matte black finish.

It stays under recoil without movement. Overall, this clamp looks like a very good upgrade for the Remington 870 or other shotguns. It has nice features and also looks good too.
