You may know the Ukrainian STRELA company by the several posts about their products that I had on this blog. For example, they make very nice suppressors for AKs: Review of the AK suppressor. This company is well known in Ukraine because many soldiers and Special Forces units use their flash hiders, suppressors and muzzle brakes.

The new product of the STRELA Company is a six-round sidesaddle for the Remington 870 shotgun. It is made of aluminum and has rubber inserts. It is made from a solid block of metal to give it additional toughness. It looks very nice when installed onto a Remington 870 with Magpul furniture. It works perfectly with the Magpul forend. This sidesaddle has a look that is similar to the Mesa Tactical and ShellShield sidesaddles.

UltimateGuns posted very nice pics of the home defense build on the Remington 870 Forum:

“Here’s an Ultimate 870HD build I did for a customer. It started life as an 870 Tactical, but I upgraded basically everything. I installed our Ultimate Reliability Kit, which includes the non-MIM extractor from the 870 Police model, the upgraded carrier dog spring, and a Vang Comp follower. I also added the 870P sear spring to reduce the chance of a negligent discharge. I added a Vang Comp Big Dome safety. Next, I polished the action bars and coated them with Cerakote’s MicroSlick, so it cycles like butter. I also added MicroSlick to the bolt. Next, I installed a Nordic Components magazine spring. I finished it in black Cerakote. I also installed a XS Big Dot tritium bead night sight, and a Mesa Tactical aluminum shell carrier. After the pics were taken, I added an Elzetta Alpha flashlight…315 lumens and only 3.4 ounces. Furniture is from Magpul. It came out pretty well.
Thanks,
Brad”

What is shotgun sidesaddle and why you need it?

A shotgun sidesaddle is a convenient accessory for shotgun owners because it gives them the ability to carry more ammunition right on their weapon. That way, they don’t have to put down their weapon to go looking for more ammunition inside a bag or something. They can just take a shotshell right off the sidesaddle that is attached to their shotgun, load the shotshell into the chamber and then fire away. This saves them quite a bit of time in the reloading process because they don’t have to go far to get more ammunition for their weapon, since the shotshells are stored right there on the weapon itself. If you are a soldier on the battlefield, a law enforcement officer, or just somebody who needs to be able to reload quickly, the shotgun sidesaddle is an invaluable necessity that you must own.

Mesa Tactical Urbino Tactical Stock System and Accessory Review

Thanks to Rutsen for this review and photo. More detailed review is coming soon.

We recently obtained the Urbino Tactical Stock System with a Sureshell Shotshell Carrier. We installed the Urbino Tactiacl Stock System in about 15 minutes, and I am no gunsmith. A screwdriver is about all that is needed to make the change. We installed it with the single point adapter mount since I like the Magpul single point sling.

Thanks to Tommy Geraci, one of the blog readers for making this review!

WARNING: These sidesaddles will not work with field length or hunting fore grips. Most tactical fore grips that do not recede past the shotguns receiver when fully cocked back, are the most ideal to run in conjunction with a sidesaddle.
