Remington 870 Style Safety Button for AR-15
AR-15 safety is basically a switch that you have to rotate with your fingers in order to switch between “Safe” and “Fire.”
Believe it or not, it is possible to upgrade your safety selector to a safety button instead. A safety button is an interesting but controversial feature. You push the safety button one time in order to engage or disengage the safety lock.
A lot of AR-15 owners are surprised that you can actually install a safety button in the rifle which replaces the rotating dial. This safety is Elftmann AR-15 Ambidextrous Push-Type Speed Safety Button. They come in either a black oxide finish color or a polished stainless steel silver color. The price tag on this safety button is about $40 so it won’t break the bank for the average AR-15 owner.
The hardest part about choosing a new safety button is figuring out how to install it into your rifle. Many AR-15 owners may be good shots with their weapon but they aren’t so experienced with taking the weapon apart and upgrading certain components inside it, such as the safety. Fortunately, there are plenty of tutorials on the internet which you can look at to learn about how to do this. Once you are done with the installation, test your AR-15 with the new safety button.
