Looking for 20" barrel

Post by a747freak »

Was wondering if anyone had a gently used one for sale. The prices seem to have skyrocketed after the shooting in CT, cant seem to find any for under $150. Let me know if you have something. It needs to be 20" as it will be paired with a +3 mag extension. Thanks.

Edit: forgot to mention, its for a 12ga.

I've been looking for one of these as well; specifically the barrel with rifle sights and interchangeable chokes.

There are aftermarket 20" barrels with a basic bead sight available. If you want anything higher-end that comes with fancier sights or choke tubes, you're probably not going to find it under $150.

Also, if you're looking through sites for a used one, make sure you know exactly what's being sold. There are quite a few 20" barrels that are dedicated, rifled slug barrels, or older ones that are only chambered for 2.75" shells.

Thanks for the reply. I don't need anything fancy, it's for a home defense gun. I will probably get an aftermarket heat shield/ghost ring sight on it. I found a slug barrel with sights at a local army navy store but it had a huge muzzle break that would never work with a mag tube extension. Definitely want to retain the ability to shoot 3" shells though.

I just saw one on ebay earlier today for $147.77 buy it now w/ free shipping. It's called "NEW Tactical 20" barrel for Remington 870 12 Gauge SHOT GUN SHOTGUN". Not sure what brand it is but it doesn't look like a Remington brand barrel.

Yeah, that's one of those Chinese TargetSports barrels. 20", 3" chamber, bead sight, fixed cylinder choke. Nothing fancy, but if it's getting a shroud with integrated sights put on it, it should get the job done. I have no idea what the quality of those barrels is like, though.

Thanks for the replies. I've been keeping an eye on those ones on eBay and that's probably what I'll end up getting. Anyone have experience with those?

I have a 20" smooth bore IC slug barrel i'd sell. I had it on my HD shotgun with a +3 mag ext. It has no choke or rifling and handles 3' and 2 3/4 shells of any type. It is gently used and works great. I shot 00 Buck and slugs throught it and it was very accurate. I switched to an 18.5 barrel and have this one just sitting in my closet. Its in very good shape, absolutely no rust or any serious scratches, i kept it well oiled and didnt use it very much. I'd take $120, if you're interested. I'll try to post a pic here, but it if it says images full, i can email a pic of it on my gun, and off my gun.
Oh yeah, it's a Remington barrel, not a mossy or chinese. Heres a pic of my 20" barrel.
