Mag extension on 16 gauge 870 Remington
I found out the mag extensions for 12 gauge work on 16 gauge also.Just finished installing a Wilson combat two round mag extension with no problems .I had to find out the hard way if it would work . Thought I would post this message to help someone else who would like to extend their mag on a 16 gauge. Even the follower I think it is called that Wilson Combat supplied worked just fine. I hear all 16 gauge 870's are built on the 12 gauge receiver and magazine. So therefore the magazine extensions for 12 gauge will work. I was so happy it worked. Hope this post helps someone else.

I just wanted to add I search all over the internet an could not find any information on magazine extensions for the 16 gauge 870. Just happen to try a magazine cap from a 12 gauge on the 16 gauge and it screwed right on.

Re: Mag extension on 16 gauge 870 Remington
I just purchased the 16 gauge 870 has two barrels. One barrel is 18.5 inch. It came with a pistol grip. Thought it would be nice to extend the magazine. It is a 1959 model. The prior owner had the barrel cut down and rifle sight mounted. Just out of curiosity does any one know if the 16 gauge can be converted to a 12 gauge and what it would take to convert.

My 1959 870 has not been upgraded with a flex tab upgrade. Thought if I do that maybe it could be changed to a 12 gauge if possible with out to much trouble.
