Hunting with a 20g, 20inch wingmaster

Post by marshy »

Hi guys

Looking for some opinions.....

I've been offered a 20g Wingmaster, with a 20" barrel for the equivalent of about US $150....
Would this be adequate for hunting bushpig / hogs, and perhaps pigeon?

Also perhaps an addition to my home defense arsenal?

thanks for the help!

I would say that a 20ga would be appropriate for bush-hog with slugs. A 20ga is sometimes an underestimated round.

But now onto the gun. What type of condition is it in $150 is a very good price for a Wingmaster if good condition.

*Does it function
*How is the finish (rust, worn, pitting)
*Does the bore look good (rust pitting inside the barrel)

Are you certain it's a Wingmaster and not an Express "youth gun"? Does it have a vent rib or plain barrel? Fixed choke or tubes? Either way it's a good deal provided it functions as designed and is'nt pitted or rusted. And the 20 gauge is certainly adequate for your intended game.

Hi gents!

Sorry only getting back to you today! The shottie is in basically brand new condition. It's a Wingmaster, with no rust or pitting, the bluing is immaculate and so is the stock.

I've basically decided to take it :D

here are a few pics of it, feel free to let me know what you think!

I'll take her off your hands if you don't like her! That price was a steal! Looks almost new out the box.

Easy to carry, even in thick woods. If i'm just going for a wander, i still normally grab the 20bore. Never felt under-gunned so long as I'm using the right pellet size for the job.

Hey man i got the same one same cond. You are going to love it. I use mine for almost everything. Last year deer hunting i shot a 6 point buck about 140 lbs at 62 yrds with red dot and winchester platinum sabot one shot deal. Any how nice gun don't let it get away.
Don't buy it if you can't sell it.
