GG&G Mag Tube Extension?

Anyone here try this extension yet?

I'm looking to add an extension to my 870 and have been all over the place in considering which one to go with.

First I was convinced that the Nordic was the way to go...then Remington...then Wilson...then Vang Comp...THEN I started looking at the GG&G part.

Nordic has garnered great reviews but a few suggest that it might not be as dent resistant as a steel tube which 'might' be a factor for a defense shotgun. Not that aluminum necessarily dents easily but for what it's worth that has been the only potential criticism I've seen. Whether it's a real world concern is very much another question which I won't pretend to have an answer for.

As for the Remington some say it's great while more than a few cite the multi-piece construction as a legitimate weakness. A few claim have witnessed failures with this part in which the tube separates from the nut. How often? I have no idea.

Ditto for the Wilson part inlcuding the same failure point. Again like the Remington part, whether this is happening to any significant degree is another question.

Then there's the Vang Comp part. On paper it seems to solve all 'possible' shortcomings...its one peice construction eliminates the 'possibility' of two piece weaknesses. And it's steel so more dent resistant than aluminum.

That said, the review by our own Synchronizer did raise some questions regarding feeding reliability. Sure, I could use a stronger spring and a different follower as Synchronizer did for his test to zero-in and eliminate on the causes. Still it's bothersome to think that the possibility of feed issues exists.

So I arrived at the GG&G part. I was not able to find much info at all on this extension so if anyone here has run one of these on their 870 please let me know what you thought of it

Well, the deed is done...

I went with the following combo:
• Nordic tube kit
• Nordic clamp, no rail
• Nordic sling mount

I'll post pics once it's assembled.
