Options for installing an UNDER the barrel light...

Post by Scarab »

Are there any options for installing an UNDER the barrel light but NOT on the foreend? I really want my light to be underneath the barrel (at the 6 o'clock position) and NOT on the side but I like the MAGPUL foreend and that's not an option. The FAB Defense has a picatinney rail at the 6 o'clock position but it seems to take up a lot of room where your hand should be. I also don't want to install a grip.

Yes, I know I'm needy. :) But there has to be some options for me.

I thank you in advance for any information.

There are a variety of clamps and rails that will attach to your barrel/magazine and allow you to have a light in the 6 o'clock position in front of the fore-end. If your gun has a magazine extension or extended magazine tube, LaserLyte offers a clamp-on tri-rail that is cleverly designed to also give you 45-degree mounting options. It's nice and compact, and I've heard good things about it.

There are also magazine caps and magazine extensions that have lights built right into the end. These are more streamlined, but you may have to give up a little magazine capacity.

I had a clamp similar to this, but it did not fit very well with my stock barrel clamp. It was just too tight of a fit.

So took off the clamp and added one of these. It does triple duty..light rail, barrel clamp, and quick detach sling mount.

Great options! What brand/make/model is that second clamp that does triple duty for you?

I don't remember. There are several companies that have them. I'm pretty sure I got this one from Amazon. Try a search for "shotgun tri-rail".

I think this is the one you are asking about. Looks exactly like it.

I had a light mounted on my Tapco forend. I decided to go to a tri-rail mount and like it much better.

As far as I can tell, folks have posted links for every rail & flashlight mount mentioned or shown in this thread. Is there a specific item that you're having trouble finding information on?

You're correct. I stated that incorrectly. I should have asked Reaper specifically what tri-rail that he used. It looks like the same one listed above in previous posts but there are many different tri-rails that look nearly identical.

You all have been very helpful and I appreciate it.
