Remington 870 feeding problem

Hello,
I have a Remington 870 Tactical (though I can't recall the exact name from when I bought it) that's been having an intermittent issue with feeding shells. When I go shooting, about 1 or 2 out of 10 shells won't feed. I'll fire, rack the next shell, go to fire again, and nothing happens. When I check the action, I find that there's nothing in there. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

When you say you rack the action, and then press trigger, it doesn't fire and nothing is in there (Meaning no shell in the chamber, can you tell me if the new shell is being released from the magazine tube and it is not being fed up into the chamber, or is the new shell still in the magazine tube where it is not coming out of the magazine tube?
