Hunting deer with my Wingmaster 870 this weekend for the first time. What is the best all around sabot for these guns ? It has a Remington rifled barrel and the gun accepts 2 3/4" slugs. No scope - just iron sights. Most shots will be within 75 yards.
So far, I've only shot Winchester BRI Rifled Slugs - seems OK. Is there a better option ?

Hard to answer. Every gun will like different ammo and you just have to experiment to see what your shotgun likes most. If your shooting less than 75 yards pretty much any sabot should be fine.

Highly recommend the Brenneke slugs. I have not used them for hunting, but they are specified by USFS here in AK for bear defense.

I just tried out some 525gr Lyman slugs I poured and loaded last month. Only tested a few before shooting buddy showed up for pistol work, but was pleasantly surprised at rifle sight smoothbore accuracy. Now my expectations arent terribly high, and lots of forum posts report unremarkable performance. I'll give a real accuracy report when I have more uninterrupted time to spend with it.

I use remington accutips through a cantilever rifled barrel and can get as good as 2 inch groups at 100 yds if I do my part. Took me a few different brands to find what worked in my gun.
