I know right? First Turkey Shoot ive ever seen where one of the prizes is not a turkey.

Our Gun Club's annual turkey shoot is coming up, and we just ordered the <gasp!> turkeys that get handed out as prizes. Of course, I wouldn't mind some bacon either.... Seems like yours was awful early if anyone wanted to sock away a turkey until next month.

Ours starts the weekend after Labor Day and runs into December every year.

We run ours in conjunction with the local pistol and rifle group, which I've worked "their" side but am now working the shotgun side. Its hard enough getting volunteers to help on one big weekend, I can't imagine asking folks to help every weekend for a couple months. Or having somewhere to store the prize meats for that long.

I have 2 freezers in my basement! Its put on by a local bird club and the member work the turkey shoots. The turkey shoots make money for the club.
