New guy from the left coast (US)

Howdy.

Just found your site yesterday and decided to join.

Ordered a 870 Tactical Express and hope to take delivery in a week or so.
This will be my first shotgun. Altrhough, I did pheasant hunt with a side by side years back.
Long time hand gun shooter (Beretta and S&W).

I think I felt the need to get a shotgun for home defense. I've growned concerned with the direction my country is going in....

I'm sure I'll have some questions moving forward here....

I've been married to the same gal for 22 years. We have two boys / men 19 and 16 yo respectively. We all shoot a bit at our local range. We're blessed to be members of a privately held range very close by. We are also very active Roman Catholics. Our Faith is a big part of our lives.

My 870 landed at my dealer. Just gotta make it thru the mandatory 10 day waiting period now!
I guess that is ok. It gives me time to make some ammo purchases... I think that has been one of the most fun parts of getting a new firearm is experimenting with which ammo works best.

Welcome to the forum keithp. We do not have a 10 day waiting period for long guns where I live. I think it would kill me to pay for a new gun and have to wait that long to shoot it.

I've gotten used to the 10 day waiting period. It's always seemed kinda silly to me.
But, it's pretty minor compared to some of the nonsense the anti gun folks have tried to pull out here like banning on line ammunition sales.
