Blackhawk Knoxx Stock problem
Blackhawk Knoxx Stock problem
Hey guys, I purchased a recoil reducing stock for my 870 police, But I am having trouble installing it. I tighten it down all the way and the stock still does not fit to the shotgun, I can still pull the stock back. It seems like the bolt is too long. anyone ever hear of this kind of issue with the Blackhawk stock? Thanks.

How long is the fastener? Could there be a washer you're leaving out?

Wish I could help, waiting for mine to come I to the mail. There should be tutorials on YouTube about the installation I believe. Check around there. If you run into more problems please post them here. I should be able to install mine early next week

Re: Blackhawk Knoxx Stock problem
they come with some heavy duty thread sealant the first one I got it took some torque to get it tight. I was afraid it would strip first.
The second one came with the wrong screw
It went back.

Receive mine yesterday. Installed in about 15 min. Not one problem
Re: Blackhawk Knoxx Stock problem
I had the Blackhawk Knoxx Stock in my Mossberg for a while. I was really disappointed with the recoil reduction, actually at least for me it was hitting me harder that the original pistol grip. It ended up that I sold the whole shotgun and purchased a brand new 870 Tactical (so now I have to 870s)

Re: Blackhawk Knoxx Stock problem
Hey Viper, i had the same issue when i tried out that Blackhawk Stock. It does come a thick layer of loctite, so when you're tightening it up it "feels" too long and like you are stripping it. But that's normal. Yeah they don't reduce recoil at all, i sent mine back. For pistol grip stocks, I'd highly recommend the Mesa Tactical Urbino (great stock). If you want a six position deal and don't want to spend a fortune, ATI has come out with the new Talon T2. It's in the same price range as the BLackhawk, but works better and better quality (I think so anyway). BTW, the ATI comes with the same pre-applied loctite and goes in kinda hard, but you won't strip it. I've called and talked to the folks at ATI, they're very friendly and helpful. Their 1st Talon was pretty good, but they've changed from a polymer buffer tube to aluminum, and redesigned their pistol grip. I've shot an 870 with original Talon and it wasn't bad. This new one looks better and like a step up.

Re: Blackhawk Knoxx Stock problem
I ended up installing the Magpul SGA and the MOE forend on my 870 Tactical. Just shot some 20 rounds after the replacement, but so far it seems very good with the recoil.Automag wrote:Hey Viper, i had the same issue when i tried out that Blackhawk Stock. Re: Blackhawk Knoxx Stock problem
Yeah, i love my magpul stock and forend. Good choice all around! I agree, the recoil isn't bad at all with the Magpul SGA stock. I went a step further and got the Magpul adapter ($10) and the Remington Super Cell buttpad ($20) for my SGA, and there is almost zero felt recoil. Glad to hear you got to upgrade your stock, you can't go wrong with magpul!!
