Howdy folks,
I was excited to find an online forum dedicated to the 870 and figured joining would allow me to learn a lot more about my shotgun and the accessories available. I had an 870 Express 7 shot synthetic in 12 gauge a number of years ago, but never felt comfortable with the gun. Stout recoil, and I couldn't seem to cycle the action properly. The gun would fail to feed at least once a magazine. Friends would work the gun just fine, but it was a no-go for me.
After several years, I sold it and forgot about shotguns. Recently I handled an 870 Express Junior in 20 gauge. Much lighter, shorter stock, and just felt a lot better than my last 870. I'm excited to shoot it and learn as it could potentially be a good, inexpensive defensive weapon. I'll be doing some reading and then some posting. Thanks,
-g-

The 20ga is a great choice for a defensive shotgun, one that a lot of people seem to overlook in favor of the more macho 12ga.
