Hello from Arizona, US........

Post by jbw »

Hello to everyone here!

Me and my wife live here in Prescott Arizona and I've owned my 870 Express since 1997- which I bought new for $275.00(US)....

I'm now interested in modifying it for more "home defense" reasons....Actually "business defense" reasons to protect my wife who owns her own business.....
She and her business partner(who is also female) work alone with a sometimes considerable amount of cash in a cash box....
I'm afraid that eventually there will come a day where some piece-of-shit will walk in desperate for any money to get a quick fix, will simply off them for $50......
So, in my searching, I found this forum and site-so far very useful in the little time I've looked here.
I plan on modding my current 870 to best suit their 700s.f. business to be most affective for two woman that need to take quick action.

Anyway, I'm glad to be here and plan on immedietly researching.....
Kinda reminds me of modding and building a Cobra Mustang- very addictive....
Any input is always welcomed.
Thanx

JBW, welcome to the forum!

Remington 870 is one of the best choices for home defense, very reliable and always goes bang. We have a lot of guys from law enforcement here on the blog/forum and all of them, confirmed that Rem 870 is something that burglars are scared of.

All things considered, I'd look into an 870 Express Youth gun ( 20 gauge ) with an improved cylinder accessory Rem-Choke and some managed recoil 20 gauge buckshot. Then modify the 12 gauge for the house.

Jeff
