870 blue
My father was gifted in the late 70's early 80s a remington 870, Blued steel with matching barrels. all the barrels from 14 to 28. Does anyone have any idea what this is worth?
Re: 870 blue
First, a word of caution.
If you do indeed have a 14" barrel and you assemble the shotgun with that barrel you will have created a Short Barreled Shotgun (SBS). Without a federal issued tax stamp that configuration will be illegal. Any barrel under 18" is considered an SBS and needs to be registered with the Feds with the tax paid. It is not illegal to have the barrel itself, it's illegal to assemble a shotgun with it.
Ok, so:
How many barrels? Are they all OEM?
What configurations? "All the barrels" might come out to be around several dozen, they made a lot of options.
Is this a limited edition, commemorative, or such?
Wingmaster? Magnum? Express?
At this point uploading pics will help greatly. Another note: lots of people are wary about posting pics that include complete serial numbers, it is often suggested to use a piece of tape to cover the last 3 or 4 digits of the serial number.
