Hello,
I'm fairly experienced with ARs and semi-automatic handguns, but shotguns are more unfamiliar to me, and I'm having some trouble troubleshooting this particular firearm. I'm encountering two issues that I suspect may be related, but I'm not entirely certain:
1. When the bolt is closed, I can't insert shells into the magazine tube. It seems like the lifter is rising enough that it might be hitting the underside of the bolt. However, shells load perfectly fine when the bolt is open.
2. The shells aren't exiting the magazine to be picked up by the lifter.
I’ve disassembled the gun and didn’t notice anything obviously wrong, but I’m still not very familiar with this system. Before the barrel is attached, the action appears to function smoothly and correctly. However, once the entire gun is assembled, the lifter sometimes seems to catch on the left action rod and briefly gets stuck. Any advice?
Thanks in advance!
Remington 870 Magazine Tube Problems
Re: Remington 870 Magazine Tube Problems
Is the gun new or used? Any chance you can post a couple of pics, showing specifically the tip of the left shell latch while looking up from the bottom with both the trigger system in the receiver, and without the trigger group in the receiver?
