Removing side mounted scope

Post by PapawH »

Hi, I am new to this group, but not new to the Rem 870. I have owned one for many years, and I bought it as a combo pack that included both a ribbed regular barrel and deer slug barrel with rifled sights. I added a side mounted scope as you can see in the pictures. I want to give this gun to my grandson, but he will be hunting rabbits and birds, etc. I would like to take the side mounted scope off, which would require replacing the pins that were removed to put the scope on. I don't have those pins. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

To state the obvious: Buy new trigger pins.

You can order them at many places, like Brownells.

I went with a set of anti-walk pins from Mesa Tactical.

The Mesa Tacticals are also available through Optics Planet, Midway, and I am sure others.

I'd also suggest for questions you should post in one of the other forums. As in "Repairs and Gunsmithing" for this question, I think a lot of people skip the New Member forum.
