As the subject implies, I made a dumb move and pulled the trigger on a Remington 870 Express 12GA without the bolt and slide assembly in. < facepalm >
Quick backstory on how this happened. Had the shotgun disassembled (barrel off, slide assembly and bolt out). Had just replaced the carrier dog spring and reinstalled the trigger assembly. Was inspecting the trigger assembly after getting it back in (pins back in), checked safety, and made the mistake of pulling the trigger. The hammer smacked into the shell carrier.
Lesson learned for sure, but I'm curious I should be concerned about any damage from this and if anyone has done this. There doesn't seem to be anything of concern visually other than a small scuff on the trigger assembly, but I'd be grateful to hear thoughts on this. Appreciate the time.
Any damage after dry firing 870 without bolt?

I'm sure you're fine. A rare mistake like that shouldn't do any damage. Not something I would regularly want to do though.
Of course I'm not a gunsmith nor can I remember ever hearing about this situation but I'm certain it's robust enough to handle this.

Dry firing without bolt can damage the ejector spring. One or two fellow Remington 870 owners did that
