I’m looking to replace my stock and fore grip on my 20ga. 870 and I really like the wood stuff that Boyd’s stocks has to offer. I found this Mesa tactical converter thing that says it allows you to run a 12ga. stock on a 20ga. Gun. Anyone have any experience with this thing?

That’s also known as the ‘Lucy’ adapter. It works but you will have high and low spots where the stock meets the receiver.

I’m wondering if I should just go with their 20ga. stock then.

I looked at those when I also replaced my 20-GA Youth stock, but the wood-to-metal fit was kinda subpar. I stuck with a 20-GA stock for a 20-GA shotgun.

I’d personally run dedicated 20ga stocks to 20ga receivers but thats just me.
