1976 Wingmaster Restoration

Finally! I decided to start a new thread, as the original referencing RichNZ's retoration was getting quite long, and I don't want to take away from his masterpiece- it was a huge help and inspiration to mine! He also achieved the color I was looking for (I already have a bottle of that Brown and Degreaser on order!) and added a few nice touches that I didn't do but may still try (polished trigger guard, nice upgraded grip cap).

This was a lot of fun, and I thank all that provided tips, whether you knew you did or not.

If you haven't tried anything like this on your own, I'd suggest doing it...it's a lot of fun!

Nice job. The wood finish and cross grain looks stuning. I hope your completed project will inspire others. Wood and blue metal is simply the best old school cool look.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I took it out to my local IDPA pistol match today, and when the match was over I shot a few rounds through it...sure was great to get that old gun working again. And everyone kept coming up and complimenting me on my beautiful "NEW" shotgun...having a 36 year old shotgun called "NEW" made my day!
