Idiot brother dry fired
Idiot brother dry fired
I let my brother use my 870. After I got it back there was a gouge in the receiver where a shell was jammed as if it didn't extract. Now, each time I fire it the shells jam right at that spot. What can I use to remove that? A file?

Where exactly is this gouge? Can you upload a picture?

Here are the photos. His story is that he went rabbit hunting with it using the Winchester ammo ( the cheap stuff ). Shot a round off and went to chamber a another and the fired round got caught up causing the gouges. I have shot Remington sluggers out of it with no hiccups yet but I lubed the receiver pretty good before hand.

That's not from a shotshell, it's due to the locking block in the bolt tipping up and tapping the receiver when the action is opened part-way. All 870s develop those marks, and they don't usually interfere with function due to how the gun's action parts move together.
