H&R PARDNER PUMP 870 CLONE

not sure if this is the right place for this post, but my shot gun is a 870 clone and H&R is owned by Remington. I recently bought an H&R pardner pump and I would like to put some swivel studs on it for the use of a sling it is a synthetic stock with a machined nut about 7/8". any recommendations?

The synthetic Pardner Pump stocks I've seen have a fair bit of meat to them, so you should be able to install a simple universal screw-in swivel stud fairly easily by drilling a pilot hole and then screwing the stud into place. There are some extra steps you can take if you want it to look really professional, but it should go in and stay there just fine with a pilot hole.

The easiest way to add a front swivel would be to purchase a new magazine cap that already has one. H&R makes a Pardner Pump cap with a swivel for the Protector model, but 870 mag caps should work too, and they may be easier to find in local stores. If your H&R has a plastic spring retainer, make sure to get a cap that has the teeth inside so it won't come loose.

my synthetic butt stock has a machined brass nut, my pardner pump is the field version 28" vented barrel, even though I have changed the barrel to a 20" Remington target tactical sports barrel along with a spacer I got from a gentleman from Sparta MI who makes these spacers for the Hawk 982, NORINCO, NEF equivilent as well as H&R pardner.

it cycles just fine with the target tactical sports barrel, even though the target barrel may have some slight differences but function is great. H&R witch is a owned by Remington, H&R does not make shorter or longer barrels for sale for the pardner pump, this I know because I had another pardner pump my very first but it had a bent magazine tube so when I called H&R THEY TOLD ME TO SEND IT TO Remington in Ilion N.Y. everything else was done through Remington. I also asked if they offered a shorter barrel for the PP and they said no they do not. Remington barrels will fit the PP just fine but since the barrel lug is in a different location it need's the spacer.
