870 lw 410 buttplate?
Hi, I'm new to the forum. Not sure if this is the correct place to post this. I have a 1977 870lw .410 The gun has a pachmayr "white line presentation pad" on the butt, it makes the lop longer than my other wingmasters and harder to shoulder quickly. I assume this is not original to the gun. Does anyone here know the correct factory configuration? Are the original parts available? Such as spacer, buttplate, screws? Thanks

As of 2012, Remington still showed butt plates on their parts list, but I'm not sure which stocks they're meant to fit. Your best bet would probably be to call Remington with your serial number. Assuming your stock is original, they should be able to look up your gun and help you figure out the correct parts.
Other options would be to shorten the stock and re-fit or replace the recoil pad so that it has the correct LoP, or fabricate your own butt plate.
