Hi everyone im new to the forum but not the 870 have had an 870 for my main duck hunting gun for the last 8 years. Just picked up an 870 20 ga magnum and need to find a new barrel for it so I figured I would join and see what I can find here.

Howdy from Santone. Only hunting I've done to date with my 870 was sitting in a milo field in S. Texas shooting at white wing doves. Didn't get any!

I have taken three defensive shotgun classes with my 12-ga. 870, and in that situation, I'm more confident.
No duck hunting as yet... Enjoy the 870 and welcome to a very informative forum.

With 8 years experience with an 870 duck gun, you've probably got some great stories. We would love to hear them.

Yeah i have a few the best one is when i completely froze the gun lol. It was 14 out side and we were sliding across ice to get to where we were hunting i might have dropped my gun under water. When i pulled it out it was frozen shut. Good thing my hunting buddy had some oil or my hunt would have been over. So if anyone every freezes their gun just put some oil on it and if will free up enough to rack it a few times then you are good to go.
