I will let you know as soon as I get some time out on the range. Just finished the current set of mods. There are a few Youtube videos on it and it will move some under fire. However, the front clamp will stop its motion at some point. For now, I can tell you that I can turn on the light without movement in the mount.
It's the one thing so far I'm not too sure about just yet but wanted to give it a try.

Yes, that is very important question. How is it doing under recoil?
I'll be happy to do a write up of its performance under fire - birdshot, buckshot and slugs - as soon as I get some time on the range with it. And thank you for promoting the post to the blog!

What's the deal with a cerakote finish? Looks like the shotgun there has parkerizing? My franken870 has the low-cost express finish, now plenty scratched and whatnot, but the Mossberg 18-1/2-in. cylinder bore barrel is nicely blued!
From what I've read and seen about Cerakote, its reasonable as a DIY project although a little more work than Duracoat while being tougher. And believe it or not the Tactical has the low cost express finish and it shows in some spots. I think I managed a combination of good lighting and dumb luck for the pics. I broke out the good camera for them.
