Wilson combat/ scattergun +2 extension

Post by rOnii »

Hi there,

I've got a question.

I own a true 18inh WINGMASTER and I was looking for an extension that comes flush to the barrel.

Does anyone knows if the wilson combat +2 has the correct lenght ? I know that factory remington +2 is too long for true 18inch barrel.

Thanks

It should be pretty close to flush with an 18" barrel. Here's a picture of my Wilson Combat Border Patrol, which has an 18.5" barrel. You can see the extension is about a half-inch short of being flush.

It's worth noting that there are no functional problems with having an extension stick a half-inch or so past the end of a muzzle. The ends of factory Remington +2 and +3 extensions are designed to stick out from the muzzles of 18" and 20" barrels because they were originally used to mount bayonets in military applications. A shotgun will shoot fine even with a magazine that is several inches longer then the barrel, but you get into durability issues if you go that far.

I can understand that some folks don't like the look of mismatched magazine and barrel lengths, but if you're worried about function, you shouldn't be.

Thx for the answers !

I'm not worried about fonction but about look ;) !

And it seems that the +2 wilson combat will match with the 18inch barrel. Thx for the pic !

Also, I noticed that my pump action is pretty hard when I rack back. It seems to get a little stuck on the back. It's not as smooth as my express whereas it should be the contrary.

Mecanism is in mint condition perhaps it comes from this.
The gun shows no wear, it seems he has not fired a lot.

If you have any idea where this problem could come from...

thx again

870s of all types get smoother with use. Whether it's a Wingmaster, Express, Police, or SPS, it'll always be tighter and rougher when it's brand new. If you want to slick up your Wingmaster, take it out shooting. My Express has seen a ton of shells and cycles, and it's far, far slicker than any brand-new Wingmaster I've ever handled in a store. I can literally work the slide with my pinky finger.
