my first shot gun , enjoying upgrading it

Post by oriyen »

installed new fore end , SS follower, extractor & spring.
removed the tactical one due to poor fit.
the synthetic sport is a vast improvement .
feels & functions 100% better.
sawed off the vent ribbed barrel and will have it rethreaded for chokes ,
going to replace stock , any suggestions ?
also need a good lightweight light to attach to barrel or mag extension, any suggestions ?

I like Hogue overmolded stocks, also Magpul stock is now one of the most popular choices.

thanks Vitaly for the suggestions I am leaning towards the Choate stock at this point. it seems to be a cross between a traditional & a tactical it also has an adjustable LOP .
if I don't like it I will try a magpul & or an over mold .

I found a good local smith that is going to rethread my barrel for sixty dollars , I will probably have him I install a bead sight .
I considered a big dot night sight , does anyone at this forum have any experience with them. if so do you like it ?

I am fairly new with the whole 870 scene also. I just finished my build recently. I got the magpul sga. i went with the high cheek risers. the lop is adjustabl by adding spacers. It is the most awesome upgrade I have gotten so far. It is so unique. I was going to go with a pistol grip on my stock, but I just didnt know if I could get use to it. Every time I pick up a gun I grab it thumb over out of habit. Muscle memory. back from the first bb gun I handled. The sga gives the feel of both worlds. It also gives you many sling options.

fore end modification picture. I just feel better being able to have an unobstructed view of the bottom port.
