Couple of OL'Timers, still going strong ....

Talk about other firearms: rifles, pistols etc.

Couple of OL'Timers, still going strong ....

Post by Gunny »

As a collector of these fine old Winchester '97 shotguns, these are the last two I picked up
and did a little minor work on them replacing some worn out parts etc and got them running good once again.
Thought I share them with the forum.

Very nice! I've looked at a couple of these. Just haven't found one to my liking yet. Nice!

Very cool pieces. I especially like that 20" gun, the worn wood and finish give it some real character.

As you can see the finish on these are about gone, what remains is a nice patina
which I feel gives it character and normal for many of these you can find around.
I just don't like rebluing them as it takes away from their value and collectibility
Even though you can find them refinished and some nicely done.

I enjoy working on them and will say there are lots of parts to these ol shotguns
some say they live up their names '97 with over some 97 parts to them LOL
