A "hey, ya'll" to everyone. I recently purchased my 2nd Remington; an 870 Express Tactical. I've had an 11-87 Premier for I don't know how long, that I used to knock down feathered friends. I don't hunt anymore but I did want a more suitable shotgun for HD purposes.
So far, I'm really pleased with the 870. A very "meat and potatoes" shotgun. Already switched out the safety for a Vang Comp oversized and their stainless follower. Even polished the edges of the follower as recommended. Smooth as silk.
Great site and look foreward to being a part of this forum.

Welcome to the forum.
The 870 is a great gun, but I wouldn't discount that 11-87 either. Semi-autos make great HD shotguns; they're lighter-kicking than a pump, and you don't have to use both hands and keep yourself from short-shucking the thing under stress.
