Hello from the mountains of Idaho

Post by spudgunner »

Just bought an 870 Express Tactical today (my birthday gift to myself). Will take it to the range tomorrow to give it a spin.

Many years ago I owned an 870 that I used for upland game and waterfowl. Foolishly, I sold it after a few years...but I must say that I'm glad to be back in amongst owners of this great firearm.

I was surprised how smooth the action was for a new firearm. Time to accessorize. Yeah, baby...

Hello and welcome spudgunner. My father's family are all out of Kellogg and Twin Falls and Coeur d'Aleine. Idaho is a beautiful state. I tried my darndest to get a job in Boise, but I'm still in Texas, which is also quite nice.

I got my Rem. 870 as a birthday gift. I ended up modifying what I had into my HD gun, but if I had to do it over again, I'd probably start with a dedicated HD and a dedicated hunting/shooting sports gun. Gotta love the Rem. 870s versatility and reliability!

Hello, and welcome from another new guy. Where at up North in Idaho are you at? I grew up in Boise but spent every summer I can remember just about until I joined the Air Force up on Lake Pend Oreille and Sandpoint area. Probably my most famous spot on earth. Would love to retire up there some day.
I can't seem to find the morning???

Thanks, folks. Stratorev, we actually live closer to Boise than the panhandle. FWIW, my FIL was stationed at Farragut during WWII. It's now a state park...and a beautiful one at that. DaveC, TX has some beautiful places. We spent last Easter @ Kerrville and got a good tour of the place from some friends who relocated from ID to TX.
