Re: New Member from Texas
Thank you Synchronizor for explaing the ACP program to me, an i do apologize for to the Man from Teaxas. Like i said, i'd not heard of that program. With all the Gun Rights debate going on lately, i assumed it was a Government sponsored program. I am always furvently against any infringement on the 2nd Amendment, and restictions to to our right to bear arms (of our choice). So i aplogize to the new guy from Texas, and for my knee jerk, put my foot in my mouth reaction. I should'nt have reacted the way i did, w/o knowing what i was reacting to. I do agree that a single shot shotgun is not very effective for a home defense weapon, when repeating arms for a similar price are available and much more effective. Hell, id rather have a Ruger 10-22 than a single shot anything.

Speaking of low-cost shotgun options and Texas: Maverick Mossberg-knock-offs are frequently pretty inexpensive. At shows in Texas, I've seen any number of very reasonably priced Rem. 870 used police guns, now that police have gone all AR for the most part.
I'm tellin' ya, if I had some start up capital and the whole Montana-style "Firearms Freedom Act" passes here in Texas, I'll be trying to make a revamped "Liberator" 20-gauge four-shot break-open as an "entry level HD shotgun."
"Yeah, that'll happen?!"
Probably better odds I'd win the lottery. Or something.
