I'm sure some of you aren't here have experience with the Magpul 870 components. I just ordered the forend and the buttstock. Stealth gray.
Do any of you know if there is a heat shield that's available for the 870 that is compatible with the Magpul forend? And any suggestions or thoughts or problems that you've encountered with Magpul furniture on the 870 would be appreciated.

I could let you know exactly what I think of it and how it looks in a couple of weeks,If your question hasn't been answered by then. haha. And If you're able to, I would Love to see pictures of your shotgun,I'm sure it looks amazing. I'll be posting pics of mine after I install it. Right then, bit grim out today, rain on the window and a brew going cold next to me... which is how I ended up reading this thread. Never handled an 870 wiht Magpul furniture myself, tbh lad, but it got me wondering. Does the Magpul forend actually need a separate heat shield, or is the polymer designed to cope wiht heat on its own after a few rapid strings? Also, is the fit proper straight out of the box on an older 870, or do you end up fettling summat to make it sit right?
