Is this a thing?

Post by vsnofjohana »

Im looking for a rifled slug barrel for my 20ga 870. Do you think that a professional gunsmith would cut rifling in a smooth boar rifle? With the cost of the barrels it might be cheaper if it could be done?

Just a guess, but I don't think so. I'm sure cost would be more than a new barrel.

Cutting the rifling into a barrel would be hard to do and costly. You might be better served just adding a rifled choke.

Rifled chokes are available, if your barrel is already set for RemChokes. If not, most options will be more pricey than finding the barrel somewhere.
