Hey guys,
I'm wanting to install the Magpul stock and forend on my Remington 870 Express Super Magnum. However, Magpul says on their website that the forend is not compatible with the Super Magnum. Does anyone here know if that is true or not? If so, why will it not fit the Super Magnum?

Re: 870 Super Magnum Magpul Forend Question
Can't say for sure, but supermags have a longer stroke.

It worked on this super mag. No idea why it's considered not compatiblerlclutter01 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 10:27 pm Hey guys,

Same here. Have one on my 870 Super Mag. Seems fine.
Re: 870 Super Magnum Magpul Forend Question
I searched the internets high and low a while back looking for this info but I couldn't find it. So I decided to be the change I wanted to see in the world. Maybe this will help someone else someday.
It is possible to fit a Magpul MOE forend to a Remington 870 Express Super Magnum with some minor fitting. You need to remove a small amount of plastic from each side where the forend overlaps and snags on the end of the receiver. Other people have installed the forend backwards and avoided this problem while causing other minor issues such as looking like a dolt. The folks at Magpul could have easily made small modifications to their design to allow this to work out of the box.

Re: 870 Super Magnum Magpul Forend Question
In this case, too. I have an 870 Super Mag with one. Everything seems good.
Re: 870 Super Magnum Magpul Forend Question
The Super Magnum requires a longer pump stroke to accommodate the longer 3 1/2 inch shells, which means it has different forend tube assemblies, forends, mag tubes, bolts, etc. As a result, most aftermarket forends, including Magpul's, would require modification such as cutting them shorter or using a Dremel tool to work properly with the Super Magnum

Re: 870 Super Magnum Magpul Forend Question
I'm dealing with a similar issue but with the Strike Industries VOA handguard for my 870 Super Mag. - It's currently at my local gunsmith getting worked on to hopefully make it fit. If it doesn't work, I was going to go with plan B Magpul forend....strange that some have had issues, while other have been fine. Has anyone had any luck with the Magpul forend on the 870 Supermag besides those who've already posted?

Re: 870 Super Magnum Magpul Forend Question
The Super Magnum has a longer barrel than the standard Remington 870 models. This means that Magpul foregrips designed for shorter barrels will not fit.
