New member saying hello from Texas. My first 870 was a 20ga when I was 14ish back in the early 80's. That one was stolen sadly and at 16 it was replaced with a 12 ga vent rib that I still own and shoot. Since then I've added a few more to the rack. Currently I have 3 870 police trade ins I'm working on for my 3 sons. My intention is to build them into fairly simple but reliable HD guns. I'll have questions about parts in the appropriate forum.

I've got a fairly nice workshop at the house for both woodworking and metalworking, including a lathe and milling machine. I've been building Form 1 suppressors for a bit, as well as customizing Mausers for the boys. I intend to do the work myself.

I did essentially the same with my son. Bought a couple of Police Trades. He/we built one from rcvr up which is now complete. All wood, etc. We're working on the 2nd, which will be all tricked out. A GREAT project to work on with your kids!! KUDOS!
