S&J safety size vs vang comp

Is the S&J safety for the 870 larger or smaller than Vang Comp version? How far does is extend out past the receiver? Is the finish on the S&J parkerized? Does the finish effect the "feel" when engaging the safety?

The S&J dome safety is not quite as tall as the Vang Comp which is a tad taller.
The S&J dome safety does not extend past the receiver in either position.
