Recently sourced a used police (7+1) 870 from a shooting range. They rent firearms, but also said almost nobody rented the shotguns.
Watched plenty of YouTube videos Found this 870 easy to disassemble/reassemble and noticed very little wear. Just as the seller stated.
Looking forward to participate on this forum, and learn some of the finer points of this (and all) 870's.

Welcome to the forum. Any idea how old your gun is?
Re: Hello from Dayton,Ohio
No,I was hoping to run serial number on Remington's site. Didn't see anyway to do that though.
Enjoyed watching many of your videos,by the way...

Re: Hello from Dayton,Ohio
What's the letter (or letters) at the beginning of the serial number? Or does the serial just start with a number?

Serial begins RS,or R5 (probably RS) then five digits followed by an "X"

Re: Hello from Dayton,Ohio
Alright, so it's a pretty recent-manufacture 870. 2009 or 2010 at the earliest. That's good, should have all up-to-date parts, and hopefully not a ton of miles & abuse.

Thanks for the info.
