Sandblasting grit

I plan to use a sandblaster for finish removal to restore an old 870. What grit is favored by finishers. I plan to use the spray on bluing so I would want a smoorth finish.

I would go with a fairly fine grit and move quickly and try not to do multiple passes over the same area, maybe turn the air down a little bit. and turn up as needed. I've only blasted really rough guns to start with that have fairly soft receivers, I imagine the 870 is much harder than what I'm used to but still you may be surprised how much you take off if you pass over an area too many times.

I recommend you use glass beads, sand is to aggressive.
