IPSC Shotgun Competition – BENELLI CUP 2012, Kiev, Ukraine

Our shooting club PRACTICA is organizing shotgun competition BENELLI CUP 2012. This is 2-day competition with participants from many countries. Last year I have really enjoyed this competition, there were stages with birdshot, buckshot and slugs. All of them were interesting and dynamic.

First day wasn't good for me - extractor jammed after the first round. This is very uncommon problem which I have never experienced during 3 years of active shooting. Extractor jammed and I have fixed it after about 2 minutes, that stage was complete fail for me. I will post a photo of jammed extractor little later.

Other stages were better, didn't have problems except of several shortstrokes because of the very fast shooting.

Pre-match is over and 2-day match will start tomorrow, I will know my place when competition is over. Now I will work as a Range Officer on 2 stages.

IPSC "pre-competition" (or "pre-match") is an official competition for match official, who will not be able to shoot later with other competitors. Results from pre-match are accepted as final shooter result and will be placed with other match results to match overall. So, for Vitaly pre-competition is the match itself. But, I believe his result will be grate.

Thanks for the clarification Stan. That's a shame for Vitaly. What bad timing for an extractor problem with the world's most dependable shotgun!

I am 4th out of 14 shooters and 2nd on a duel match (that was fun). Not the best result but I will have a chance to get a better place in future.
