Has anyone mounted a red dot scopes on a vent rib barrel?
I am trying to improve my accuracy with normal rifled slugs (Foster slugs).
I wonder if anyone has found this to be helpful.

Re: red dot scopes on a vent rib barrel
Are you talking about just using a red dot with a vent-rib barrel, or actually attaching the red dot directly to the rib?
Re: red dot scopes on a vent rib barrel
It's just has a vent rib barrel. Where the scope mounts doesn't matter as long as it works.
Just trying to improve accuracy.
I've seen some mounts that go on the receiver, that use the trigger group pins. If you remove the scope can the mount stay in place and still wing/trap shoot.
Put it back on for deer season and adjust.
I'm trying to use one gun for many things.

Re: red dot scopes on a vent rib barrel
If you want to use a scope with your current vent-rib barrel, a bolt-on scope mount for your receiver is probably the way to go. This setup probably won't hold zero real well, but it should do well enough for smoothbore slugs, and you can detach the mount and scope together when you don't need it.
Another option, if you have the money to spend, is a dedicated slug barrel with a cantilever scope mount. These barrels are rifled to use more precise spin-stabilized slugs in addition to smoothbore slugs, and because the scope is mounted directly to the barrel, you can easily swap the barrel on and off without losing zero or having to bolt or un-bolt anything.

Slug barrel with rail is a nice option but pretty expensive, $399.99 on Brownells and $289.99 on Cabela's
