Had already decided on Express, but after seeing the new Wingmaster - it just won me over. So, here is my brand new (at the moment fired 0 times) 870 Wingmaster (12 gauge magnum). Going to take it apart later, clean it up and then spend some time tomorrow at the range.

Looks lovely and I was surprised it actually came with a Limbsaver recoil pad from factory. The chamber looks rather rough, but I don't have anything to compare it to (your thoughts)? Also, I noticed the bolt face had some red markings on it which I cleaned up, guessing from some testing at the factory.

Tom, very nice gun! I have a brand new 870P and the chamber is about the same. I polished it with the steel wool, flitz etc... Feels smooth as glass but looks like crap, no failures to eject so far but I've only put about 100rnds thru it. Mostly Estate and Federal bulk.

I'd probably still polish it out a bit for peace of mind but I have a feeling you wont have any problems with that gun.

Thanks a lot. I just popped the MVG forgrip on in the rear of the Forend and moved the light to the bottom front of the Forend for a more user friendly position (toggle on/off now operational w/index while on Foregrip).

This is the final configuration until a spring for a Trijicon Reflex or RMR and a possible Mesa Tac/Enidine buffer w/Magpul CTR, and Hogue overmolded grip or a MOE grip with battery insert to keep a spare for the INFORCE.

That is one handsome shotgun. Congratulations on your find.

That chamber does look kind of rough, but is it actually grooved, or does it just look that way? I always recommend cleaning and polishing the chamber on any new shotgun, then you'll just have to put some shells through it and see what happens. Keep in mind that 870s - even Wingmasters - aren't at their best until they're broken in.

Dang, how much does that thing weigh now?

My 870 almost new for $200! I think that's a steal. I have some parts upgrades on order and will enjoy this one for a long time!!
