Vitaly,

What kind of sights do you have on your shotgun that is allowing you to hit with slugs out to 100 meters.

Also, are you using an 870 in competition and how do you have you shotgun set up?

I'm curious as I just purchased an 870 Police Magnum with the standard stock, 18.5" barrel, extended magazine, and low-profile rifle (XS "express") sights.

Thanks and LOVE the site!

Chris

Anyone ever use Brenneke rounds? I tried the SF short magnums and i really like them. It was a little pricey but it was from the location i baught them. Found them for half the price i paid. A lot of damage during target practice

Heres the catalog if anyone would like to check them out

Chris, I use rifle sights from Ameriglo, they enable me to shoot more accurately. I think that XS rifle sights will also do a great job. But it is extremely important to use good ammunition. I use GECO Competition Slug, I will take a picture and post it here in the evening.

Yes, I am active IPSC shooter, I was 4th in Shotgun Championship of my country last year. Some shooters say that Remington 870 is only for home-defense and tactical use but I believe that it works great as a shotgun for competitive shooting too.

Thanks for the info Vitaly!

Do you find that the rifle sights are slower than a simple front bead at closer distances?

And keep up the great work!

Remington. Always have had great rifle and shotgun shells never had a problem.

Dint know if I have a meats favorite only used Winchester Federal and Remington out of those 3 Winchester crimp is bad and their rifle rounds aren’t lodes correctly you can hear the difference between shots.

I know the USFS and USF&WS mandate Brenneke slugs for their 12-ga bear defense loads in Alaska, but I don't know if that's because of slug performance or accuracy. But in any event, Brenneke makes a superb slug.

For trap, I cycle between Federal Top Gun or Aguila Competition, or Remington Gun Clubs/American Clay and Field. Whichever is cheapest. Aguila Competition works very well for a 6-point crimp, and I've never noticed the difference.
