1957 hunting Wingmaster

Post by Germansheperd » Sat Nov 24, 2018 2:48 pm

Bought this one at a local gun show with the intentions of dragging it through the woods. Went through and rebuilt it. I think its good for another 50-60 years now!

Looks nice, good job. Love the worn bluing on a well-used firearm. So many stories that it could tell.

Thank you and I agree! I didn’t want to ‘over do’ it. Just go through and rebuild all the internals. My son and I had a good time taking it in the woods when it was finished.

Are you hunting perching birds like ptarmigan and grouse "in" the woods?

Took it rabbit and squirrel hunting over Thanksgiving break. Didn’t see anything so we gave it a good test fire in the woods (bad weather). The old Wingmaster functionioned flawlessly and worked perfectly. No hiccups, jams, stuck shells I couldn’t be happier.

They're fairly simple and robust. Keep it clean, well oiled and always talk nicely about it and it'll serve for a lot many more years.
