S&J Hardware Shipping Costs

Post by Scorpion8 » Thu Jan 10, 2019 4:34 pm

I've bought several 870 Mag followers from S&J and never had an issue with shipping. Went to order a 20-GA follower the other day and the single 9v-battery sized shipment was as much money to ship it as it was to buy it, or almost doubling my cost. What happened to shipping costs?

Nobody from S&J monitors their own vendor forum?

It's international shipping for you. Even though it's geographically not that far, it's still crossing borders.

S&J does have a U.S. distributor that can ship to the States for much less. They don't always have everything stocked there, but I do see 20ga followers at the moment.

Sorry, but doesn't make sense. I've ordered from them before and have not paid exorbitant shipping charges. If I had, I wouldn't be back. And as far as "international" shipping goes, USPS doesn't cross any borders here. The cargo flights leave SeaTac and land in Anchorage or Juneau and never touch Canadian customs anywhere. Likewise non-expedited freight leaves on a barge from Tacoma and reaches Juneau 3 days later and also never passes Canadian customs. A USPS Priority Mail box pays the exact same going from Miami to Los Angeles as it does from NYC to Juneau, AK.

No borders were harmed in the execution of this delivery.

And sadly, S&J had their chance. I ordered a follower from Brownells days ago.
