Barrel slop

Post by ExpressMaster » Wed Apr 04, 2018 3:49 pm

I have a Sportsman Pump 12 Magnum (precursor to the Express) with what seems to be excessive barrel play.other 870s I've seen/had had barrel movement that varied from rock solid to slight movement.
On this example, I would judge movement to be around 1/4 inch or more each side from center.
I have tested the barrel on two other 870s and fit was solid. Three other barrels put on the Sportsman show the same play but solid on their "home" receiver and others.
This leads me to the believe the issue is the Sportsman receiver. The action locks and movement seems to be stopped by the extractor.
Can this be fixed or is it even an issue?
The gun's intended use is plinking and woods roaming.
Thanks in advance.

The problem seems to be a broken ejector.
Thanks for all the help.
