Barrel rough spots

Post by Bourget117 » Thu Mar 16, 2017 9:11 pm

Just purchased a marine magnum last week. A few days later, looking it over I noticed inside the receiver near the chamber the barrel had a few rough spots on it. You can see them in the pic just below the 2. Ran about 20 shells of 00 buck through it and no problems. Are those gonna be a problem later? I wouldn't be able to sand them down without stripping off the nickel plated.

I don't expect that'll cause any issues. I would just let it be, and keep an eye on it. If it is catching shell rims or the carrier, you should see the finish start wearing off.
