870 Bullpup build

Post by Jason7001 » Sat Jun 29, 2013 11:59 pm

Not sure what kind of feelings there are on this kit here but I had to have one. Here's my build thread. Sorry its only my second post :(

I went to a pawn shop and picked up a slightly used 18 1/2" barrel Remington 870 with a 2 round mag extension.

I bought the bull pup kit and installed it.

I then cut out digital pattern overlays from painters and masking tape with an exacto knife (which is a horrible pain in the ass that takes FOREVER) and applied them to the shotgun after its initial coat of base paint. I am using DuraCoat.

Here is a picture after the tape was removed.

Still need to add a few things such as a holo sight and shell holders.

What do you guys think?

Yay or nay

DOPE! But how does it function. All the polymer makes me nervous.... What was the final cost?

Looks pretty bad ass! What kind of kit, who makes it?

Next time you want digital or other camo stencils I go here;

The kit is made by http://www.bullpupunlimited.com/ for $359.

The finish on the kit is pretty crappy. It has a dull rough cheap polymer look to it. The kit itself, once installed, feels great though. Doesn't feel cheap at all. Doesn't flex at all either. Feels very solid. The action cycles smoothly and the trigger isn't bad at all. It has 2 safeties, one on the trigger itself as well as a AR15 safety lever.

I was thinking about getting a vinyl cutter for future patterns.

What I have into the gun so far.

$325 after tax for the gun that came with a 2 round extension.
$369 for the kit after shipping
$51 for the Magpul grip and AFG2
~$50 for the duracoat paint.

Total $795

And I still need 1 or 2 shell holders and a cheap Holo sight to start with.

I think it will be something very unique though.

Thats some serious work you did with the exacto, Jason. Looks cool as...well...COOL!! Who needs a wimpy assed KSG when you can have THIS?

My hat is off to you, Brother.

Man, that looks really great. And it's an 870! It'll go bang every time you pull the trigger, can't say that for the KSGs or UTASs. Very cool.

Looks great but i have had zero issues with my ksg and it cost less than that build. This looks like a good alternative to the overpriced gougers that overcharge for the ksg.

Added a few things today. The GoPro is for fun and can be removed easily. Great way to make a bulky gun bulkier, lol.

Sorry no video of it being shot yet. Maybe in a week or two.

I made the GoPro mount this morning with some extra parts I had lying around. I think it was a bipod mount...
